Insurance and Payment Details

I am available to serve clients located in Florida or North Carolina via telehealth on a fee for service basis. I do not participate with any insurance plans. Fees are due at the time of service.  I accept all major credit credit cards (AMEX, Visa, and Mastercard). Payments for services rendered are ultimately your responsibility.

If I am providing individual counseling, I will assist you if you wish to use your insurance by providing you receipts that you may submit to your insurance provider.  Many insurance companies offer “out of network” benefits and will pay a portion of outpatient mental health services. I encourage you to check with your insurance company to find out specific requirements and limitations of this coverage. It is important to mention that the service will be provided via telehealth.

Why I Don’t Bill Insurance for Couples and Family Therapy

Couples and family therapy focuses on the dynamics of a relationship system—not just the concerns of one individual. Because insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis for a specific person in order to authorize treatment, the systemic nature of couples and family work does not align with insurance billing practices.

In other words, insurance is structured to treat individual mental health diagnoses, not relational issues. Billing insurance for couples or family therapy would require assigning a diagnosis to one person as the “identified patient,” which can be misleading, clinically inappropriate, and potentially harmful to the therapeutic process.

For this reason, all couples and family therapy services are self-pay only. This approach allows us to prioritize the health of the relationship without the constraints of insurance requirements or diagnostic labels.

Session Fees for Couples & Family Therapy:

• 50 minutes – $175

• 60 minutes – $200

• 75 minutes – $250

• 90 minutes – $300

I do not provide sliding scale services at this time.
